After a break due to shipping challenges REACT is back with yet another Usborne Books donation this time to Nyankyerenease Methodist Church Primary Schools. The school was nominated by one of REACT’s Trustees; Sgt. Kofi Owusu Agyemang. Sgt Agyeman said he chose the school because he has a strong connection to the local community, having lived in the area when growing up. Agyemeng said his mother is a member of the school’s PTA and  so he is  familiar with the community and wanted to give back by supporting the pupils with additional learning resources. Sgt Agyemang said as REACT Trustee, he felt the books donation was a practical way of contributing to the children’s education and making a positive impact locally. 

 

The Headteacher of the Amponsah Kwame receiving the donation thanked REACT and its partner Usborne and prayed that this will mark the beginning of more donations in the foreseeable future to support under-resourced like them.

 

REACT CEO Prince Osei Akowuah in a remote statement thanked Usborne Books UK for complimenting REACT’s vision of making quality reading materials available to some of societies’ most vulnerable children over the years. Prince assured communities that for as long as we have reliable partners such as Usborne the Book Support Scheme will expand its footprint across the wider communities in Ghana.
