REACT on Sunday 24th November 2019 donated 20 pairs of new football boots to Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football Ghana (FCPF-GH) in Northampton. The organisation was set up in 2017 by Anne Doe to use sports as a coping strategy in dealing with the challenges of cerebral palsy. REACT had the privilege of watching a game by the team last year and decided to encourage the idea in some way. Prince Osei Akowuah, REACT’s director commended the Executive director of xxx Anne Doe for her vision and passion for disabled groups like CP sufferers who are often neglected in sports in Ghana due to their disabilities. Prince urged the government of Ghana to support such individual initiatives which make disabled people and children in particular feel a sense of belonging and gain social recognition. Prince assured the team that REACT will continue to explore meaningful ways of collaboration in the foreseeable future.
The Executive director of FCPF-GH Anne Doe, who received the donation said the team was very grateful and believe the donation will encourage the team to continue giving their best in spite of the challenges they encounter in such tough environment like
Ghana. Anne expressed the hope that REACT’s kind gesture will encourage others to support their cause regardless of how small their donations may be. She said the team will continue to work hard and the sports attractive to other disabled children who may feel abandoned and lonely.
